Thanks for your reply Ron. Not sure how it ended up in the Laptop forum, as I had just posted something else in the XPS one. As soon as it started I noticed the Bluetooth icon in the system dell xps 420 bluetooth, something that hadn't been coming up all the time it was broken.
XPSBluetooth stopped working. The little button next to the dell xps 420 bluetooth Bluetooth light push and it will link to the keyboard. The bluetooth light remains on, and the card readers work- but the keyboard and mouse lose connectivity.

Having been through all the tests that Dell support recommended and then extracted the drive to dell xps 420 bluetooth a replacement on Monday I did a bit more research on various forum entries. I then decided that maybe it was worth trying to install the device one more time. There should be instructions that came with the keyboard else you could try the logitech website for a setup document.
